Smashing Dandelions With A Stick

This piece was written in response to Naviarhaiku241 – Nightfall.

  Nightfall,

  with a stick.

This is a haiku by Jack Kerouac, who took a different approach with Japanese Haiku. He said, “I don’t think American Haikus (short three-line poems intended to be completely packed with Void of Whole) should worry about syllables because American speech is something again … bursting to pop.”

Smashing Dandelions With A Stick was written for Flute, Clarinet, Horn, Trombone, Marimba and Vibraphone.
